Packets or a bag?
Single-serve packets are pre-measured and sealed, which makes them easy for travel, desks and shared spaces. Bulk pouches cost less per cup and let you set your own strength: a 3.5 oz pouch makes about 35 servings and an 8 oz pouch about 80.
How to make it
Stir 1.5 to 2 teaspoons from a bag, or one single-serve packet, into 8 to 10 fl oz of hot or cold water. For iced coffee, dissolve it in about 2 fl oz of hot water first, then add cold water, milk or ice.
Frequently asked questions
How much instant coffee should I use per cup?
1.5 to 2 teaspoons from a bag, or one single-serve packet, per 8 to 10 fl oz of water. Use more or less to taste.
Can I make iced coffee with Waka?
Yes. Dissolve the coffee in about 2 fl oz of hot water first, then add cold water, milk or ice. A handheld frother also works for mixing directly into cold liquid.
How much caffeine is in Waka instant coffee?
Approximately 55 mg per 2 tsp of medium roast, 75 mg for dark roast, 45 mg per 1 tsp of instant espresso and 3 mg for decaf. Single-serve packets run about 60 mg (medium), 80 mg (dark) and 4 mg (decaf).
How should I store it?
At room temperature in a dry place, with the bag closed tightly after each use. No refrigeration needed. Every bag and packet has a printed best-by date.
Which size should I buy first?
If you are trying a roast for the first time, a sample pack, an 8-count box or a 3.5 oz pouch is the lower-commitment way to start.
