Caffeine-free vs decaf

Chamomile is an herbal infusion rather than a tea leaf, so it is naturally caffeine free. Decaf black tea is real black tea with most of the caffeine removed, leaving about 0.17 mg per serving.

What is in the chamomile tea?

Two ingredients: chamomile flower extract and corn-derived maltodextrin, which helps the extract dissolve cleanly.

How to make it

Use about 1/4 teaspoon per 8 to 10 fl oz of hot or cold water and stir. For iced tea, dissolve the powder in a little hot water first, then top with cold water and ice. For a 64 fl oz pitcher, start with about 2 teaspoons; for a gallon, about 4 teaspoons.

Frequently asked questions

Is Waka chamomile tea caffeine free?

Yes. Chamomile is an herbal infusion, not a tea leaf, so it is naturally caffeine free.

How much caffeine is in Waka decaf black tea?

About 0.17 mg per 1/4 teaspoon serving.

Are these teas sweetened?

No. Both are unsweetened.

Why does the chamomile contain maltodextrin?

It is a corn-derived carrier that lets the chamomile extract dissolve without clumping. Chamomile extract and maltodextrin are the only two ingredients.
