A 1/4 teaspoon contains approximately 35 mg of caffeine, and the 4.5 oz pouch makes up to 200 cups or about 50 quarts of iced tea. No tea bags, steeping, or brewing time.
How is instant tea powder different from tea bags?
Waka Classic Black dissolves directly in water, with no steeping or brewing time. You choose strength by adjusting the amount of powder.
How much caffeine is in Waka instant black tea?
Approximately 35 mg per 1/4 teaspoon serving. Caffeine scales with the amount of powder, so a stronger cup carries more.
How many cups does one pouch make?

Can I make iced tea directly with cold water?
It mostly dissolves in cold water, but for the cleanest result dissolve it in a little hot water first and then top with cold water and ice. If mixing straight into cold water, stir vigorously or use a frother.
Is this the same as the Kenyan black tea?
No. This one is single-origin from India and is clean and brisk. The Kenyan black is bold and full-bodied with notes of fruitiness. Both are 100% tea with the same caffeine per serving.
How do I make hot black tea with instant black tea powder?
Stir 1/4 teaspoon into 8 to 10 fl oz of hot water. There are no tea bags and no steeping or brewing time.
How much black tea powder do I use for a glass of iced tea?
The serving size is 1/4 teaspoon per 8 to 10 fl oz. Dissolve it in a little hot water, then add cold water and ice, and use more or less powder to adjust strength.
Can I add lemon to Classic Black instant tea?
Yes. It is unsweetened and unflavored, so you can add lemon, sweetener, or milk to taste.
How do I make sweet iced tea with unsweetened instant black tea?
Make the tea as usual, then stir in sugar or your preferred sweetener to taste. Waka Classic Black contains no added sugar, so you control how sweet it is.
Our tea powder is concentrated, requiring just a small amount to make your tea. Use 1/4 tsp for one serving (8 fl oz) or 2 teaspoons to make a full 64 fl oz pitcher. For a gallon (128 fl oz), we recommend starting with 4 tsp of Waka tea powder. From there, feel free to adjust the flavor to suit your taste!
Waka instant coffee contains between 3 mg and 80 mg of caffeine per serving, depending on the roast. Exact amounts by product:
A standard 8 fl oz cup of drip coffee contains roughly 95 mg of caffeine. Waka Medium Roast at the recommended 2 tsp serving contains approximately 55 mg, which is a little over half the caffeine of a typical brewed cup. Use more powder for a stronger cup.
