Great tea
Love the tea! Tastes great!!
Waka Classic Black Instant Tea is a soluble tea powder made from 100% single-origin premium black tea leaves from India. It is unsweetened and unflavored with no added sugar, no fillers, and no artificial flavors or colors — nothing but tea. A 1/4 teaspoon contains approximately 35 mg of caffeine, and the 4.5 oz pouch makes up to 200 cups or about 50 quarts of iced tea. No tea bags, steeping, or brewing time.
How is instant tea powder different from tea bags?
Instant tea powder is brewed tea with the water removed, so it dissolves on contact and needs no steeping time or bag disposal. Tea bags require 3 to 5 minutes in hot water and cannot be made directly with cold water. Powder also lets you set strength precisely by adjusting the amount.
How much caffeine is in Waka instant black tea?
Approximately 35 mg per 1/4 teaspoon serving, roughly a third of a cup of drip coffee. Caffeine scales with the amount of powder, so a stronger cup carries more.
How many cups does one pouch make?
Up to 200 cups, or about 50 quarts of iced tea, at the recommended 1/4 teaspoon.
Can I make iced tea directly with cold water?
It mostly dissolves in cold water, but for the cleanest result dissolve it in a little hot water first and then top with cold water and ice. If mixing straight into cold water, stir vigorously or use a frother.
Is this the same as the Kenyan black tea?
No. This one is single-origin from India and is clean and brisk. The Kenyan black is bold and full-bodied with notes of fruitiness. Both are 100% tea with the same caffeine per serving.
Our tea powder is concentrated, requiring just a small amount to make your tea. Use 1/4 tsp for one serving (8 fl oz) or 2 teaspoons to make a full 64 fl oz pitcher. For a gallon (128 fl oz), we recommend starting with 4 tsp of Waka tea powder. From there, feel free to adjust the flavor to suit your taste!
Waka instant coffee contains between 3 mg and 80 mg of caffeine per serving, depending on the roast. Exact amounts by product:
A standard 8 fl oz cup of drip coffee contains roughly 95 mg of caffeine. Waka Medium Roast at the recommended 2 tsp serving contains approximately 55 mg, which is a little over half the caffeine of a typical brewed cup. Use more powder for a stronger cup.
Every Waka product is printed with an exact "best by" date on its packaging. Waka does not ship any full-priced item with less than three months of shelf life remaining.
