Waka Kenyan Black Instant Tea is a soluble tea powder made from 100% single-origin premium black tea leaves from Kenya. It is unsweetened and unflavored with no added sugar, no fillers, and no artificial flavors or colors. A 1/4 teaspoon contains approximately 35 mg of caffeine, and the 4.5 oz pouch makes up to 200 cups or about 50 quarts of iced tea. No tea bags, steeping, or brewing time.
What does Kenyan black tea taste like?
Bold and full-bodied with notes of fruitiness. Kenyan black tea is typically brisker and stronger in body than Indian black tea, which is why it is common in breakfast blends and holds up well to milk.
How does it compare to the Classic Indian black tea?
The Kenyan is bolder and fruitier. The Indian classic is cleaner and more brisk with a smooth finish. Both are 100% tea, unsweetened, with the same caffeine per serving.
How much caffeine is in a serving?
Approximately 35 mg per 1/4 teaspoon, roughly a third of a cup of drip coffee.
Can I make iced tea directly with cold water?
It mostly dissolves in cold water, but for the cleanest result dissolve it in a little hot water first and then top with cold water and ice. If mixing straight into cold water, stir vigorously or use a frother.
Pour ¼ - ½ tsp of tea powder into a cup. For hot tea, add 8-10 fl oz of hot water, stir and enjoy. For iced tea, add 2 fl oz of hot water and stir. Top with 6-8 fl oz of cold water, add ice and enjoy. Visit our How to Brew page to learn more.

Waka instant coffee contains between 3 mg and 80 mg of caffeine per serving, depending on the roast. Exact amounts by product:
A standard 8 fl oz cup of drip coffee contains roughly 95 mg of caffeine. Waka Medium Roast at the recommended 2 tsp serving contains approximately 55 mg, which is a little over half the caffeine of a typical brewed cup. Use more powder for a stronger cup.
