With summer just around the corner, it’s time to bring out the sunscreen, flip flops, and frozen icy matcha drinks!
Matcha has a deep and earthy flavor that compliments milk's natural rich sweetness. When you blend it all up with some ice, you get a refreshing treat great for hot days.
Here’s how to make your own ice blended instant matcha latte at home:
- 1 cup of milk or milk alternative (any will do)
- 2 tsp instant matcha
- 3 tbsp of honey (or sweetener of your choice)
- Cup of ice
In a blender, put 2 tsp of instant matcha and a small amount of hot water to dissolve the matcha. Stir or blend until it has a paste consistency.
Add in 1 cup of milk and 3 tbsp of honey. Blend until fully incorporated.
Add in your cup of ice in increments and blend until you’ve achieved a “slushie” texture.
Do a small taste test and add in more sweetener if desired.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
