How to choose

Start with what you drink most. Coffee drinkers usually pick a roast first, then a format: single-serve packets for travel and work, bulk pouches for the lowest cost per cup. Tea drinkers pick black or green, then unflavored or flavored.

If you are not sure yet, coffee sample packs, tea travel packets and build-your-own bundles let you try several before buying full sizes.

How to make it

  • Coffee: Stir 1.5 to 2 teaspoons from a bag, or one single-serve packet, into 8 to 10 fl oz of hot or cold water. For iced coffee, dissolve it in about 2 fl oz of hot water first, then add cold water, milk or ice.
  • Tea: Use about 1/4 teaspoon per 8 to 10 fl oz of hot or cold water and stir. For iced tea, dissolve the powder in a little hot water first, then top with cold water and ice. For a 64 fl oz pitcher, start with about 2 teaspoons; for a gallon, about 4 teaspoons.
