Easy Instant Coffee Panna Cotta

What is Panna Cotta?

Panna cotta is a molded chilled dessert originated in Italy. While the exact origin is not mentioned in Italian cookbooks it is often cited as a traditional dessert of the northern Italian region of Piedmont.

Panna Cotta is one of the most simple desserts you can make that also look, elegant and delicious. A great dessert for every occasion! 

You can make your Panna Cotta with different additions such as salted caramel, berries, white chocolate or keep it pure vanilla. We make ours with... coffee!!

Easy Instant Coffee Panna Cotta Recipe

Ingredients

FOR THE PANNA COTTA

  • 1 2/3 cups whole milk
  • 4 tsp powder gelatine 
  • 1/5 cup sugar
  • 1 2/3 cups heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp Waka instant coffee 

FOR THE COFFEE SYRUP

  • 4 oz strong coffee (1 tsp Waka Coffee + 4 oz hot water)
  • 2-3 tbsp sugar

Instructions:

FOR THE PANNA COTTA

1. Place the milk in a small saucepan. 

2. Sprinkle the gelatin over the milk and let it stand for 5 minutes. Stir over medium heat just until the gelatin dissolves, but make sure the milk does not boil (about 2 minutes). Set aside.

3. In a separate saucepan, add the heavy cream, instant coffee, sugar, and salt. Stir well over low heat, until the sugar dissolves (about 3 more minutes). 

4. Remove from the heat and let it cool a bit.

5. Pour the milk mixture into 2 glasses, dividing equally.

6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours and up to 2 days.

7. Pour a little syrup over the top of each serving and enjoy.
