What is White Chocolate?
While the name “white chocolate” contains the word “chocolate,” white chocolate actually is not, actual chocolate. It is still delicious though!
To qualify as a chocolate treat and not a "regular" candy, a product must contain at least ten precent cocoa solids, which are not exciting in white chocolate. White chocolate is made from cocoa butter, milk solids, sugar, and vanilla.
A cocoa bean is made up of about equal parts cocoa butter and cacao nibs. The butter is what gives your chocolate its rich mouthfeel, while the nibs in charge of the smell and taste. White chocolate is absent of the nibs (solids) and contain only the fats, so it can't technically be categorized as chocolate.
Many people, including team Waka, love white chocolate no matter how you call it. So, it's time to make a delicious white chocolate mocha!
